Plotline of Welcome to the Jungle
The story of Welcome to the Jungle follows a businessman named ‘Sinha’ (played by Zakir Hussain) who wants to avoid paying taxes. Due to this, his employee, ‘Dubey’ (played by Johnny Lever), suggests that he make a flop movie and invest money in it. According to ‘Dubey’, this can be the best way for ‘Sinha’ to avoid paying taxes. To make the film a disaster, ‘Sinha’ hires a group of unsuitable people.

The people whom ‘Sinha’ hires include ‘Dev’ (played by Rajpal Yadav), ‘Das’ (played by Paresh Rawal) as directors, a struggling actor, ‘Rajiv’ (played by Akshay Kumar), and ‘Nainsukh’ (played by Shreyas Talpade) as a cameraperson who has one eye. The movie also features ‘Sinha’s’ daughter, ‘Jenny’ (played by Jacqueline Fernandez), ‘Rajiv’s’ ex-girlfriend, ‘Nadia’ (played by Disha Patani), gangsters, ‘Romeo’ (played by Arshad Warsi) and ‘Yeda’ (played by Suniel Shetty), ‘Rangwa’ (played by Mukesh Tiwari) and ‘Jagwa’ (played by Yashpal Sharma), ‘Rambo’ (played by Krushna Abhishek) and ‘Jumbo’ (played by Kiku Sharda). Before filming begins, ‘Teja’ (played by Lara Dutta) trains the cast members.

The unsuitable cast members learn a shocking truth after a series of events at the village
Along with ‘Rajiv’s’ manager, ‘Benny’ (played by Tusshar Kapoor), the unsuitable cast members of ‘Sinha’s’ film travel to a village on the India-Pakistan border to shoot the movie. They meet ‘Zatara’ (Jackie Shroff). After a series of events, ‘Rajiv’ and the other teammates discover that their trip to the jungle was never a real survival mission. It was a deadly trap set by an international gang. This gang makes fake money and runs illegal smuggling operations. ‘Zatara’ is the mastermind.

‘Rajiv’ and the other team members fight back
‘Rajiv’ realises that the director and production house were fake. The gang brought the unsuitable people under one roof only to use them as human shields, so the cops would not suspect the criminals’ activities. The group hired by ‘Sinha’ learns that the jungle is secret den of the gang and is heavily protected. After learning the shocking truth about ‘Sinha’, the group decides to fight back. Instead of using real weapons, they use movie props and film equipment in funny and creative ways to stop ‘Zatara’ and his gang. The film ends with the villains being defeated due to their overconfidence.

Welcome to the Jungle X review
Soon after Welcome to the Jungle was released in theatres, cinephiles took to their X (formerly Twitter) handles to share their review. A user wrote, “Welcome to the Jungle is a great fun film. Director Ahmed Khan has used every actor nicely. Also, Akshay Kumar and Disha Patani’s song, which is sung by Tailwinder, is one of the best songs in this album. Disha and Akki should definitely do an action film together. Johnny Lever is outstanding. No one can match his comedy timing. Overall fun film and family entertainer.” Film critic and trade analyst, Aavishkar penned:
“#WelcomeToTheJungle is the most nonsensical, brain-rot film of the year and that’s probably its biggest strength. Rating: 2.5 You’ve already seen the trailer and you know exactly what to expect. It may not be a good film, but it turned out to be slightly better than I expected. This madness is driven by three aces: 1. #AkshayKumar, who is in top form and genuinely makes you laugh most of the time, 2. Meta references to some of our favourite comedy films that we grew up watching, 3. Slapstick one-liners that, when they land, work quite well.”
