Shweta and Pulkit’s separation turned ugly when the two decided to wash their dirty linen in public by blaming each other for their failed marriage. Shweta Rohira and Pulkit Samrat’s marriage only lasted for 11 months
Shweta Rohira and Pulkit Samrat’s romance was nothing less than a fairytale. The couple started dating when he was a TV star and supported each other through thick and thin. The two took the nuptial plunge in November 2014, but sadly, their marriage could only last for 11 months. In October 2015, the rumours of their divorce started doing the rounds when Shweta and Pulkit started living separately.
Shweta Rohira blamed Yami Gautam for her failed marriage with Pulkit Samrat
While there were many rumours pertaining to Shweta and Pulkit’s separation, it was also speculated that the actor’s proximity with Yami Gautam was another reason. Soon, Shweta reacted to the gossip and blamed Yami for breaking her marriage with Pulkit Samrat. In an interview with Mid-Day, Shweta called Yami a home-breaker and said:
“I was living in an illusion. I trusted Pulkit. The film industry is a very small world. I get to know things about him even if I don’t want to. Yami was the smoke that led to whatever happened between Pulkit and me. She is a home-breaker.”
Shweta Rohira said Pulkit and Yami took advantage of the former’s miscarriage
Shweta Rohira shocked everyone when she stated that Pulkit and Yami started dating after Shweta suffered a miscarriage in 2015. However, after Shweta’s serious allegations, Pulkit broke his silence on the matter. He stated in an interview with Hindustan Times that the news of miscarriage was way too personal for him to be discussed in the public forum. He also stated that Shweta fabricated the facts to malign his reputation and to gain sympathy from the public.
In the same interview, Pulkit also defended Yami Gautam and shared that he started shooting with Yami after four years of Shweta’s miscarriage. Calling out Shweta’s lies, Pulkit shared:
“It’s misusing a miscarriage that happened four years ago, when somebody wasn’t even in the picture. I started shooting for ‘Sanam Re’ four years after that incident. How much can you lie? There’s a limit. You are saying that we took advantage of the miscarriage, since she was advised best rest. That’s such a big lie. All I can say is this is the point where my relationship ends, because I was never with this person (Shweta). I would never expect someone to stoop to this level.”
Pulkit Samrat said Shweta Rohira’s insecurity was the reason behind their split
Speaking to Hindustan Times, Pulkit shared the reason behind his divorce from Shweta Rohira and revealed that she had always been insecure about him. The actor revealed that when they separated, Shweta started reaching out to his friends and told his close friend that she had an affair with Pulkit. He also revealed that she used to insult his parents whenever they visited them in Mumbai, which caused them to stop visiting him.
The actor also shared that there came a point where he had to choose between Shweta and his parents, and he chose his parents. Not just this, Pulkit also blamed Shweta’s mother for interfering in her daughter’s life and making decisions on her behalf. In his words:
“When a mother starts living her life through her daughter, it’s dangerous. Shweta’s thoughts and decisions were taken by her mother. There’s a certain line that needs to be drawn, which every mother and daughter understands.”
After a lot of mudslinging, Shweta Rohira and Pulkit Samrat were granted divorce in 2017.
