Chuck Norris Dead: Action Star & Martial Artist Passes Away at Age 86


Chuck Norris has sadly passed away.

On Friday morning (March 20), it was announced that the legendary action star and martial artist had died the day before at the age of 86.

“It is with heavy hearts that our family shares the sudden passing of our beloved Chuck Norris yesterday morning,” Chuck‘s family wrote on Instagram. “While we would like to keep the circumstances private, please know that he was surrounded by his family and was at peace.”

To us, he was a devoted husband, a loving father and grandfather, an incredible brother, and the heart of our family,” the statement continued. “He lived his life with faith, purpose, and an unwavering commitment to the people he loved. Through his work, discipline, and kindness, he inspired millions around the world and left a lasting impact on so many lives.”

“While our hearts are broken, we are deeply grateful for the life he lived and for the unforgettable moments we were blessed to share with him. The love and support he received from fans around the world meant so much to him, and our family is truly thankful for it. To him, you were not just fans, you were his friends.”

Earlier this week, TMZ reported that Chuck had been hospitalized in Hawaii. Chuck‘s passing comes just days after he celebrated his 86th birthday on March 10.

“We know many of you had heard about his recent hospitalization, and we are truly grateful for the prayers and support you sent his way,” the Norris family wrote. “As we grieve this loss, we kindly ask for privacy for our family during this time. Thank you for loving him with us.”

Chuck first found fame in karate movies back in 1980s, starring in A Force of One and An Eye for an Eye. By the end of that decade, he was known as one of Hollywood’s biggest action stars.

He then starred in Walker, Texas Ranger, which premiered in 1993.

Chuck married his high school classmate Dianne Kay Holechek, in 1958 and they welcomes sons Mike and Eric. He also welcomed a daughter Dina in 1963 during an extramarital affair. He did not meet his daughter until decades later.

After divorcing Dianne in 1989, he married Gena O’Kelley in 1998 after meeting on set of Walker, Texas Ranger. They welcomed twins Dakota and Danilee in 2001.
