A Florida bus driver has reportedly been accused of fatally shooting and killing two passengers amid an argument.

More Details On The Florida Bus Driver Allegedly Fatally Shooting Two Passengers
According to WPLG Local 10, the shooting occurred during the early hours of Sunday, March 30, in Miami Gardens. Furthermore, police reportedly responded to calls about a “disturbance.” Ultimately, it was discovered that a “driver of the Miami-Dade Transit bus” got into an argument or disagreement with “passengers who were onboard.”
At some point during the interaction, police say, the bus driver “pulled out a gun and opened fire.” Furthermore, the gunfire struck two individuals. According to USA Today, a total of six shots were heard by witnesses.
More Details About The Reported Argument & The Subsequent Investigation Into The Miami-Dade Transit Incident
Per WPLG Local 10, a witness alleged that the incident “started when the driver refused to let a man board the bus with a stolen bike.” In turn, the passenger with the bike allegedly made threats against the driver. Then, the driver pulled out a weapon and struck the passenger while also injuring a bystander on the bus, the witness added.
According to the outlet, both passengers were airlifted to HCA Florida Aventura Hospital in critical condition. However, they each succumbed to their wounds. At this time, police have not confirmed whether either of the now-deceased passengers were armed or whether the bus driver will face charges.
To note, a spokesperson for the Miami-Dade Department of Transportation and Public Works has reportedly told WPLG Local 10, “Drivers are not allowed to be armed.”
Lastly, PEOPLE reports that the identities of the two victims and bus driver have not been publicly released.
A Bus Driver In Georgia Was Reportedly Killed By Three Juveniles
In January, another bus shooting made headlines in Georgia. As The Shade Room previously reported, Leroy Ramos was fatally shot on January 3 around 6:30 p.m. At the time, it was reported that three juveniles “got into an altercation” with Ramos and “refused to pay” the $2.50 bus fare.
Surveillance footage reportedly captured gunfire, and subsequently, the three juveniles were charged with murder.
