‘House Of The Dragon’ Season 3 Is Finally Here, Premiere Time, Streaming Details, And What To Expect


After a long wait of nearly two years, House of the Dragon has officially returned. In fact, the fantasy drama, which serves as the prequel to Game of Thrones, is back with its third season. Now, since the battle for the Iron Throne has intensified, fans are all set to witness what happens next in Westeros. But, irrespective of the storyline, there are going to be dragons, political intrigue and deadly rivalries. Season 3 will pick up after the shocking events of the previous seasons, especially as Team Black and Team Green move closer toto a big war. 

When does House of the Dragon Season 3 premiere?

House of the Dragon Season 3 will be released on Sunday, June 21, 2026. In turn, the new season’s premiere is in line with HBO’s traditional Sunday night release schedule. In fact, the same slot had enabled Game of Thrones to become a major global phenomenon. At the same time, the new episodes will air every week, which shall give fans ample time to discuss every single twist, betrayal and dragon battle. Overall, it is expected to run eight episodes. In turn, the finale is scheduled for August 2026.

However, the international viewers will have different release times based on their region. In India, the new episodes of the show will be available to watch on Monday mornings through JioHotstar.

Meanwhile, viewers in the United Kingdom can watch the series through Sky Atlantic and NOW TV. On the other hand, Australian fans can stream it on HBO Max. In case any viewer wants to look back at the first two seasons before starting the new one, they can turn to HBO and HBO Max.

What to expect in House of the Dragon Season 3?

In contrast to the previous seasons, which focused on political manoeuvring and tensions, Season 3 might directly focus on a full-blown war. The conflict between ‘Queen Rhaenyra Targaryen ‘and ‘King Aegon II’ has reached the brink. In turn, they are making alliances and new dragons are entering the battle, better known as the Dance of Dragons. One of the most anticipated moments will be the Battle of Gullet. It will be a highly anticipated major naval battle for fans of George R.R. Martin’s Fire and Blood.

Some key cast members will return to the show, such as Emma D’Arcy, who will return as ‘Rhaenyra Targaryen’, Matt Smith, who will be back as ‘Daeemon Targaryen’, and more.
