Maren Morris is opening up about her dating life.
If you were unaware, the 35-year-old “The Middle” singer finalized her divorce from Ryan Hurd in January 2024 after six years of marriage. Months later in June, she came out as bisexual.
In a new interview, Maren shared the biggest difference in dating women versus men.
Keep reading to find out more…While appearing on the U Up? podcast, Maren said that she has found that she has an easier time connecting with women, while with men, it takes a lot longer.
“My experience has been really positive,” Maren shared. “But I also have a confusion sometimes because I can connect with a woman, any woman, within like two minutes, and we’ll be talking about our childhoods… Like, we will get into it so quickly. With a guy that would take like years to get into that trauma.
She continued, “But we’re so good at building community out of sharing stories or gossip or whatever… It’s a survival technique. We cling together out of vulnerabilities.”
While she’s able to connect with women on an “emotionally deep level,” Maren admitted that sometimes it’s hard to determine if she’s having a romantic connection, or just a friendship.
“I sometimes have the hard delineation of romance versus friendship, because women can connect so quickly and easily, which is a magical thing about us,” Maren explained. “But that’s the comparison, I guess, to dating men, right? Because I’ve been there. It’s like, I have enough friends. I think I’m good. I’m looking for something beyond that.”
“But sometimes the chemistry isn’t there,” she added. “It doesn’t depend, you know, on the guy or the girl.”
