Britney Spears is dreading what may happen following her DUI.
Days after the shocking arrest, a source close to the pop star revealed to Page Six that “she’s devastated” and the incident “has scared the crap out of her” — mainly because she doesn’t want to go to jail. The insider shared that “Britney knows she has to face the consequences whatever they may be,” but her inner circle is “just praying it is rehab and not jail.”
According to the source, the I Wanna Go singer “knows what’s happened is very, very bad and has the potential to impact not just her life, but everyone around her, especially her boys,” Sean Preston and Jayden James. They added:
“She feels a lot of regret over what has happened.”

Now, Brit is just hoping the judge will show her some mercy. The insider noted that “the last thing she wants is to go to jail” and claimed she “has no one to blame but herself,” which “she is well aware of.” However, Britney may not be able to jail time.
As we previously reported, after reports that cops found an “unknown substance” in her car, the California Highway Patrol confirmed Britney was taken into custody for “driving under the influence of a combination of drugs and alcohol.” Sources familiar with the situation then claimed to TMZ on Friday that the performer had Adderall in her possession at the time of the arrest. She reportedly got the medication while in Mexico, and the pills will be tested to see if they contain pure Adderall or an additional substance, such as fentanyl, cocaine, or meth.
Since this is Britney’s first DUI, a judge normally would not order jail time. But if the alleged drugs in her system contain serious levels of narcotics, that could change things. The judge may then order her to spend time behind bars.
Yikes…
While Britney awaits her fate, the Page Six insider shared that “the people around her are working on a plan” to help her out — and it’s not to get her well enough to return to work! They just want her “happy” and “healthy.” And fortunately, she is now open to treatment. The source added:
“They would very much like to get her into a treatment center so she can have the time and space to get herself healthy and on the right track. It would be a medical detox. This is not about getting her back to work, this is about Britney living a fulfilled and healthy life with her boys and her family. That is her priority right now. She just wants to be a good mom and to be happy.”
The insider also mentioned that her sons “are with her right now,” saying:
“They love her and want to support her and just want her to feel better.”
For now, the confidant told Page Six that “everyone is just waiting to see what the tests” on what the police found in her car reveal. That’ll be a big factor, as we mentioned, in what happens next with Britney.
