Nicole Kidman on Alexander Skarsgård Bad Breathe on ‘Big Little Lies’

Nicole Kidman‘s interview on the “Las Culturistas” podcast gained traction on social media after the Oscar and Emmy winner revealed that she told Alexander Skarsgård to stop eating falafel before their kissing scenes because of Kidman’s disdain for bad breath.

“I cannot stand bad breath,” Kidman said. “This is a deal-breaker for me. You could be the most gorgeous, gorgeous guy, and if you came at me with bad breath, I’m like, no. If I say, ‘Breath on me,’ and I have to recoil, yikes, I’m out. You could not offer me enough money.”

“When Alexander Skarsgård ate a falafel sandwich before we did the scenes in ‘Big Little Lies,’ I’m like, ‘No, no, no, Alex. I’m meant to be into you and kissing you — put away the falafel now,’” she continued. “I’m sure he did not eat a falafel ever again. I said, ‘No more falafel. Not before you kiss, not before you make love.’”

Kidman and Skarsgard starred on the first season of HBO’s “Big Little Lies” as married couple Celeste and Perry Wright. Both actors won Emmys for their performances. Kidman returned as Celeste for the show’s second season.

Variety reported last September that “Big Little Lies” Season 3 is officially in the works at HBO. “Mr. and Mrs. Smith” co-creator Francesca Sloane is writing the first episode and executive producing the third season of the hit series. Sloane will executive produce along with David E. Kelley, Nicole Kidman, and Reese Witherspoon, with Kidman and Witherspoon once again leading the cast.
