Ustaad Bhagat Singh has finally arrived in theatres on March 19, 2026. The wait was too long for fans of Power Star Pawan Kalyan, considering that the superstar’s political commitments delayed his projects. The release date was initially set in 2024. However, with Pawan Kalyan getting busy with his two more pending movies, Hari Hara Veera Mallu and They Call Him OG, the director, Harish Shankar, shifted his focus to Mr. Bachchan with Ravi Teja in the lead.
For the unversed, Ustaad Bhagat Singh marks Pawan Kalyan’s third big release in 2026. Moreover, Harish and Pawan have joined each other almost 14 years after Gabbar Singh, which was released in 2012. The trailer of Ustaad Bhagat Singh hinted at the arrival of an entertainer with lots of action that is expected to leave a positive impression on fans. Produced by Naveen Yerneni and Yalamanchili Ravi Shankar under Mythri Movie Makers, the action drama is undoubtedly going to satisfy Pawan Kalyan’s fans, even though there is no novelty in the main storyline. Keep reading to know if the movie deserves to be watched in theatres this week!
Ustaad Bhagat Singh delivers entertainment with a routine storyline

The trailer of Ustaad Bhagat Singh clearly revealed that it is going to be a clash between good and evil. Although the confrontation scenes of Pawan Kalyan with the main villain were missing in the glimpse, anyone could see it coming. That is exactly what the main storyline focuses on. A little tribal boy is found by an honest teacher in Andhra Pradesh. The kid has a brave heart, and the teacher decides to help the child get educated and work for society. The teacher also gives a name to the kid, ‘Ustaad Bhagat Singh.’

As the child grows up, he becomes an honest police officer. On the other hand, the teacher is now the Chief Minister. Things take a different turn when the CM is attacked by some assassins. This leads to more characters being introduced and the face-off between ‘Ustaad Bhagat Singh’ and a politician, ‘Chadala Marri Nalla Nagappa.’ The plot focuses on the reasons leading to the attack on the CM and the connection between ‘Bhagat’ and ‘Nalla Nagappa.’

As mentioned, the storyline does not have anything new to offer. Although Ustaad Bhagat Singh is not a remake of Theri, the main plot will make anyone recall Thalapathy Vijay’s blockbuster movie. But the director ensures to keep everyone hooked to their seats from the initial frames. The characters are new, and the treatment is different in this case. The script also adds a lot of fun moments that are more enjoyable to watch on the big screen.
Comedy sequences and Pawan Kalyan’s screen presence leave an impression

The first half of Ustaad Bhagat Singh has enough entertaining elements with a lot of drama and funny moments. The comedy works a lot, even if a few of them resemble scenes from other hit Telugu films. The dialogues are also impressive at the same time. Moreover, viewers get to see Pawan Kalyan trying to teach people about loyalty to the country, love, and a lot of other things. These whistle-worthy moments will surely be remembered by the fans once they come out of the theatres.

Apart from all these, Pawan Kalyan’s screen presence is the biggest highlight of the film. The superstar’s dance, comedy timing, and action will easily grab the attention of the audience. Even if the routine storyline leaves some people uninterested, Pawan Kalyan’s performance will not let them leave their seats. The second half has a few memorable moments linked to the hero’s confrontation with the main villain. Although the director has preferred to repeat what people saw years ago in Gabbar Singh, the presentation will not leave anyone disappointed.
Few supporting characters get a chance to shine on screen
Ustaad Bhagat Singh has a long list of supporting cast members. While all of them do not get enough screen space to show their potential, the main villain, played by R. Parthiban, is the best. His character looks intimidating, although it feels in the end that it could have been well-written. R. Parthiban and Pawan Kalyan’s face-offs bring back the memories of the general action films that everyone has seen over the years.

Another actor who impresses among the supporting cast is K.S. Ravikumar, playing the Chief Minister. The situations faced by the character lead to the main conflict and contribute a lot to the progress of the storyline. Sreeleela plays her role as usual, with her beauty and cuteness bringing a smile to the faces of the viewers. Raashii Khanna undoubtedly deserved a better and bigger role as she appears occasionally in the film. Among other actors, Rao Ramesh leaves an impression alongside Prabhas Sreenu, Satyam Rajesh, Chammak Chandra, Ramki, Gautami, and others.
